Who am I?
I'm Patience, a journalist and storyteller passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices. Whether through investigative reporting, cultural criticism, or long-form storytelling, my work centers on the intersections of Black and queer identities in media, pop culture, and beyond. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a bachelor's degree in journalism, where I served as a reporter and editor for The Columbia Chronicle. My reporting spans higher education, local politics, and social issues, with a commitment to solutions journalism and community-focused storytelling.
Beyond traditional reporting, I’m the creator of Beyond Panels & Ropes, a media platform exploring wrestling, comics, and pop culture through a queer, critical lens. Through video essays, written analysis, and multimedia storytelling, I dive into the evolving landscapes of these industries, highlighting the voices and narratives that often go overlooked. With a strong foundation in research, writing, and digital storytelling, I aim to bring nuance and depth to every story I tell—whether it's breaking news, cultural commentary, or a deep dive into the ever-changing world of pro wrestling and geek culture.
Let’s connect—whether you’re looking for a journalist, a collaborator, or just someone to talk comics and wrestling with.
